Name That Veggie Week!
Come to the Canterbury Community Farmers Market on Wednesday, September 11 for "Name That Veggie" Week and take a close look at the wide variety of fruit and veggies we have available at the Market. Some may not be familiar to you! Ask the vendors about a fruit or vegetable you haven’t tried before – you might develop a new favorite!
We will try again to have our monthly “Sandwich Slam” after we had a weather postponement last week. Create your own sandwich from a buffet of fresh-from-our-Market meats, cheeses, veggies, and spreads. $5 suggested donation.
Below is just a tiny sampling of what our hard-working vendors have to offer this week. Check to see what ready-to-eat goodness is available this week! There is no reason to be hungry at the Market!!
Blakeney’s Bakery – They will supply their yummy bread for the sandwich slam and have their usual assortment of boules, batards, scones, cookies, and pretzels.
Marsh Meadow Bison - Bison are vegetarians and love to eat their greens! They will have bison burgers (indirectly made of veggies) as well as stew meat.
Meadows Pond Soaps – Janet has mixed up a couple of veggie-based soaps for you to try – one using local organic carrot puree and another using rue leaves. Check out the rest of her collections of soaps, lotions, and balms.
Our Place Farm – All pork products are still 20% off. Plus 24 (Yes, TWENTY FOUR!) flavors of jam. Try something new – there’s sure to be a flavor you’ve never had before! Misty has also completed two more of her beautiful braided rugs so please check them out!
Sanborn Meadow Farm – Tomatoes are still ripening so there will be a good collection of colors and sizes for you to try. Plus lettuce mix, arugula, mixed greens, tatsoi, kale, chard, collards, onions, shallots, carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, and summer squash.
