How Sweet It Is! Market News - July 17th

HOW SWEET IT IS! Come to the charming center of Canterbury this Wednesday, July 17 from 4-6:30 pm to visit the best (in our humble opinion!) little farmers market in NH!

Treat your sweet tooth to local honey, syrup and maple products, cashew-based “ice cream,” fresh baked goods, summer fruits and fruit preserves. Our local vendors also have a good selection of produce, pasture-raised meats, garlic, dairy, eggs, flowers, and selected crafts.

Special Guests This Week

Don’t miss your chance to get your gardening questions answered as the Master Gardeners from the UNH Cooperative Extension are back at the market this week. Also returning is Solarize Canterbury, providing information on how you can go solar.

Vendors News

As if that weren’t enough fun, several of our vendors are getting together to host a sampling event so you can taste their products. Blakeney’s, Marsh Meadow Bison, Sanborn Meadow Farm, Gilded Fern Farm and Steve’s Original Sauces will put together tasty little treats to try. Look for the sample table between Blakeney’s and Marsh Meadow’s stalls!

Blakeney’s – Their sliced baguettes will provide the base upon which the samples will be built. Plus an assortment of yummy flavored breads, plain baguettes and batards, scones and pretzels.

Brookford Farm – Maple Greek Yogurt made from their 100% grass fed cow's milk and North Family Farm syrup. The famous grilled cheese is back this week, so after hitting the sample table, make your way to the back of the market for one of these delicious sandwiches!

Cookies and Cakes HOORAY! - Delicious fruit filled cake slices with their own secret recipe fruit frosting.

Gilded Fern Farm – They will have their Edelweiss (alpine/Swiss) and Briar Hill bite (manchego) available as part of the tasting event. Check out their other varieties of artisan cheeses and Greek yogurts.

Hackleboro Orchards – Peas, summer squashes, cukes, some cherry tomatoes, and hopefully a few blueberries. And, of course, the always tasty and sweet cider donuts!

Lofty View Farm – Yummy baked goods and homemade soda.

North Family Farm - Fresh 2019 maple syrup, cream, sugar and candy. Maple syrup samples available!

Red Manse Farm - Lettuce, beets, cucumbers, yellow squash, and zucchini, along with the usual maple syrup and canned goods.

Sanborn Meadow Farm – Greens including mixed baby greens, arugula, tatsoi, lettuce, chard, kale. Summer squash, scallions, and radishes too! Luscious, spicy greens will be part of the sampling event!

Steve’s Original Sauces - Honey Sriracha Sauce with a beautiful balance of heat and SWEET. Also, New Hampshire Maple Sauce, which has local Loudon NH maple syrup. SOS will be part of the sampling event so make sure to try some!

Live Market Music

Live music this week provided by Entangled Strings who emphasizes tight harmonies and melodic wanderings on a variety of stringed instruments while playing folk, country and Americana songs. Grab some food from our vendors then sit in the shade and listen!
