Canterbury Community Farmers Market News - August 14th

Come all ye members to the Canterbury Community Farmers Market this Wednesday, August 14, from 4-6:30 pm for a celebration of YOU! Why? Because it is THANKS TO MEMBERS week!

Of course, you don't need to be a member to shop at the Market, but we certainly depend on our members to keep a vibrant Market that the whole community can benefit from. We welcome new or renewing members at any time, just stop by the Market Info tent. Don't forget to pick up this year's member gift!

We hope to see you ALL at the Market, because it is YOU who make this market such an important part of our Canterbury community!

Vendors News

Below is just a tiny sampling of what our wonderful vendors will have this week:

Blakeney's Bakery: The new tomato/Garlic scone and cranberry white chocolate cookie will be available, plus all of their traditionally yummy breads, scones, pretzels, and cookies.

Brookford Farm: Grilled cheese is back! Head to the back of the Market and get one of these made-to-order delicious treats. They will also have krauts, organic vegetables, and 100% grass-fed dairy.

Fen Ridge Farm: Freshly processed chickens for $2 per pound. Call in advance to reserve yours at 267-8929 as a limited number will be brought to the Market.

Meadow's Pond Soaps: Try the activated charcoal mask for a soothing homemade spa treat!

Our Place Farm: All pork products 20% off!

Red Manse Farm: Sweet corn, peppers, eggplant, summer squash, zucchini, cucumbers, and basil, along with maple syrup, salsas, and other canned goods.

Sanborn Meadow Farm: Sorry, Sanborn Meadow will NOT be at the Market this week as they take a break to reset for the rest of the season. You can pick up greens and other veggies at the Canterbury Country Store during regular store hours. Sanborn Meadow will be back next week!

***Be sure to wander aaaaall the way to the back of the Market, on the grassy area behind the library—many fine vendors are back there in the shade!***

Live Market Music

Live music this week provided by Barry Hayes. Our friends at the Craftsbury Farmers Market have this to say about Barry..."“I highly recommend Barry – his music is folksy, golden-oldie type that fits in beautifully with a farmers market. He has been invited back to play whenever he wishes. We got lots of good feedback from customers, vendors, and even children. Definitely one of the best musicians we have had!”

Weekly Weather

Thankfully, the weather is looking MUCH better than the thundering downpour we had last week! A shout out and a heartfelt "THANK YOU!" to those friends who braved the weather to buy goods from our soaked vendors before the Market was closed and we all retreated to safe shelter.
